The goal of this activity is to strengthen students' English skills and help them naturally and enjoyably overcome language barriers.
The program includes:
- In-person classes held at the school facilities.
- Groups organized by age ranges, with a minimum of 8 students per group.
- Quarterly objectives sent to families for each course.
- Course progress tracked with quarterly reports for each student.
- Additional monitor, besides the teacher, for preschool groups.

ROBOTICS WITH NIUEDUCA
We are continuing this activity for the second consecutive year with one of Barcelona's leading companies in technology and robotics education, adapting to the latest innovations in the field.
Students are at the center of their own learning, constantly challenged to solve different problems creatively and collaboratively using new technologies. This hands-on learning approach involves creation and trial-and-error, combining mechanics with programming. Working with their hands stimulates creativity, while programming develops analytical and logical-mathematical thinking.
Activities and projects are developed based on the LEGO Education methodology, allowing students to learn concepts in a fun and interdisciplinary way.

SPORTS: BASKETBALL
For the second consecutive year, Ateneu and Basketball Club SJD are offering this activity at the school. Its goal is to educate boys and girls on the values of team sports: camaraderie, respect for peers, individual effort for the group, and more.
This local club has been training basketball players since 1988, focusing on both technical and tactical skills, always applying teaching methodologies that help children understand and enjoy the sport.
This activity takes place twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and, thanks to Basketball Club SJD, includes participation in tournaments or friendly matches. It is aimed at students from i4 to 6th grade, with groups organized by age.

SPORTS: FUTSAL
Also for the second consecutive year, Ateneu and Sant Joan Despí Futsal Club are offering this activity at the school. Through futsal, we reinforce positive values such as respect, camaraderie, and teamwork, while focusing on improving and learning new skills.
The SJD Futsal Club is an organization with over 15 years of experience, featuring both male and female sections with more than 200 athletes and 25 certified coaches. It is a comprehensive sports and training project for boys and girls aged 5 and up.
This activity takes place twice a week (Mondays and Wednesdays). It is aimed at students from i4 to 6th grade, with groups organized by age. Throughout the year, thanks to SJD Futsal Club, various friendly matches are held against teams from other schools in our area.

DANCE TROUPE
Ateneu continues to connect with local organizations in Sant Joan Despí. This year, we’re adding this new extracurricular activity.
Led by the Dance Troupe, students will learn the most traditional dances of our culture.
For children aged 3 to 12, this is a great opportunity to learn Catalan dance choreographies every Friday at school.

MUSICAL EXPERIMENTATION
Who doesn’t love music? Who doesn’t love musical instruments?
This new workshop introduces students to the world of music through instruments or their construction. Students make their first contact with the characteristics of sounds and noises that everyday objects can produce and their vast possibilities. They learn to play small instruments and some basic concepts of musical language, focusing on rhythm and body movement, while encouraging active participation.

MOVE AND PLAY
For the youngest membersof the Ateneu, this workshop focuses on physical activity and recreational games adapted to their developmental stage. Children will develop motor skills, coordination, and social interaction through structured play and movement activities. Perfect for fostering a love for physical activity in a fun and engaging environment!

CHOREOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP
Welcome to another year of our extracurricular choreographic dance class, designed for children from i4 to secondary school. You will learn to express yourself with your body, move to the rhythm of music, and create group choreographies. We promote teamwork, creativity, and confidence. At the end of the course, we will present a performance to families to showcase the skills and style acquired. A course of release, fun, and learning through dance.
