Ateneu Governing Bodies

Ateneu Instructiu is a state-subsidized school and non-profit association with a long history in Sant Joan Despí. It was founded in 1882 by families from the municipality who wanted to offer quality education to the children of the area (you can learn more in the History section ).

Today, the Ateneu maintains that same mission and values, and develops them in unique facilities, the result of the participation, involvement and drive of families over generations. That is why the ownership of the center lies with the associated families, who actively participate in the life of the school through the different governing bodies and the educational community.

What does it involve?

Administrative and service staff are key to the daily functioning of the center and family support, contributing to making the school a safe, orderly and welcoming space.

AFA

At the Ateneu we have a very active Parents Association (AFA), with a particularity that differentiates us from many other centers: it does not operate with periodic fees. Its activity focuses on organizing and promoting initiatives that bring families together and strengthen the educational community.

What does the AFA do?

  • Organizes activities and celebrations for families and students.
  • Collaborates in center events and community proposals.
  • Participates in city activities, connecting the Ateneu with Sant Joan Despí.

Documents that guide the center

The project and functioning of the Ateneu are based on a clear, public and up-to-date documentary framework. Among the main documents of the center are:

  • Bylaws of the owning entity (the association).
  • NOFC (Rules of Organization and Functioning of the Center).
  • PEC (Educational Project of the Center).

Note: documents are available to associated families on the association's ClickEdu intranet.
