Closing and graduations at the Ateneu: celebrating the end of the stage for 2nd year of Batxillerat and 4th year of ESO

The end of the school year always brings moments of reflection, balance, and, above all, a lot of emotion. Last Friday the 29th, the Ateneu School dressed up to celebrate the closing events of two very special graduating classes: the students of 2nd year of Batxillerat and those of 4th year of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO).

Closing a school stage is much more than receiving a diploma; it is the culmination of years of effort, learning, friendships, and personal growth.

2nd year of Batxillerat: a farewell full of future and new challenges

The graduation of 2nd year of Baccalaureate marks a decisive turning point. After years of dedication, perseverance, and intense preparation, our students say goodbye to school to embark on their path towards university, higher vocational training programs, or the working world.

• Recognition of effort: A tribute to the sustained effort and maturity demonstrated during a demanding academic stage.

• Shared gratitude: A moment of gathering between students, teachers, and families to appreciate the mutual support throughout this journey.

4th of ESO: closing a cycle and opening new horizons

For their part, the 4th year ESO students experienced a closing event that was equally visceral and significant. This course marks the end of mandatory secondary education and opens a stage of important decisions.

While a part of this graduating class will continue their education at the Ateneu in post-compulsory studies, other students will embark on new educational adventures at other centers. Whatever their destination may be, all of them leave an indelible mark on the history of our community.

Seeing how those boys and girls who once entered the school door have transformed into prepared, critical, and committed young people is the greatest pride for all the faculty of the Ateneu.

Our traditional end-of-year party at the Ateneu School once again turned the center into a place of gathering, celebration, and shared joy among young and old.

An afternoon filled with positive energy, music, laughter, and reunions that marks the end of months of effort, learning, and collective growth.

The success of such a special day as this is the result of teamwork and the combined efforts of all the groups that make up the large family of the Ateneu:

After an intense course full of projects lived with excitement, the moment arrives to take a break, disconnect from the routine, and enjoy the good weather. The end-of-course party leaves us with a backpack full of experiences and memories that will accompany us throughout the summer holidays until we meet again in September.

Intergenerational connection: 4th-year ESO students share experiences and values with the elderly at the Sophos residence

At Ateneu School, we firmly believe that education transcends the walls of the classroom. Educating also implies shaping empathetic, aware, and committed individuals with their social environment. There are learning experiences that are not assessed in an exam, but leave an indelible mark on the personal development of our students.

Recently, the 4th year ESO students have starred in one of those special encounters by sharing a morning of companionship with the elderly people of the Sophos residence.

Dialogue between generations: listening, empathy, and smiles

The meeting transformed an everyday space into a magical environment of human connection. Through small conversations, young and old exchanged stories, laughter, and reflections on life that allowed for the construction of a bridge between two generations distant in time, but very close in emotions.

This type of intergenerational initiative brings profound benefits to both parties:

• Development of empathy: Students learn the value of active listening, patience, and respect for our elders, understanding the richness of their life experience.

• Companionship and vitality: For the residents, the visit from the young represents an injection of energy, companionship, and joy that breaks the daily routine.

Little great artists in I3: how the puncturing tactic develops fine motor skills and concentration

In the early stages of Early Childhood Education, every small activity is a great opportunity to discover the world and develop new skills. In the I3 classroom of the Ateneu School, our students have experienced one of those moments of pure creativity and concentration through a craft workshop dedicated to the creation of flowers.

Apparently, using a punch on paper or cardboard to shape a flower may seem like a simple game, but behind this task lies a fundamental educational work for the motor and cognitive development of young children.

The benefits of working on fine psychomotricity in I3

The use of the punch and the support panel is one of the classic and most effective tools in the I3 stage. Through this activity, children not only have fun creating their little works of art but also work on key skills:

• Control of pressure and oculomotor coordination: Learning to hold the tool with the correct grip and adjust the force so as not to tear the paper.

• Encouragement of concentration and patience: Punching along a line requires sustained attention, a measured pace, and a lot of precision.

• Autonomy and care of materials: They learn to be mindful with the different materials in the classroom and to appreciate the result of their own effort.
