Street Experience (Carnival)

The art of silence takes to the streets: A Carnival of mimes in Sant Joan Despí

This year's Carnival has not remained within the walls of the Ateneu; it has burst forth with strength into the heart of Sant Joan Despí. With our mime costumes, the students have transformed the city into a great stage full of gestures, emotions, and plenty of expression.

This experience has been much more than a parade. It has been an opportunity to:

  • Communicate without words: The students explored the art of mime, using their bodies and facial expressions to connect with the neighbors.

  • Learn beyond the classrooms: We believe that learning is richer when it opens up to the community and interacts with the real environment.

  • Share the joy: Filling the streets with smiles and creativity is our way of thanking the city that welcomes us.

Thanks to all the families who accompanied us and to those who came out to greet us. You made this Carnival truly magical and unforgettable!

Were you able to see our wave of mimes? Leave us a comment with your favorite moment of the day!

Healthy habits and family collaboration

Health and community: We distribute fresh fruit with the help of families

At the Ateneu, betting on health is a task we do as a team. This week we experienced a fantastic day thanks to the fruit donation program from the Generalitat, but above all thanks to the involvement of our volunteer families.

The school has become a genuine health workshop where families have come to:

  1. Prepare and cut the fruit carefully so that it is ready for the little ones.

  2. Organize the distribution for each class group.

  3. Distribute it directly to the classrooms, spreading the positive energy of healthy food.

This type of initiative is at the heart of the Athenaeum: a school-family alliance that promotes healthy habits from the ground up. Seeing how children enjoy fresh fruit and appreciate the work of volunteer parents reminds us of the importance of taking care of one another.

Do you value these health initiatives at school? What fruit is most popular at your home? Tell us in the comments!

Technology and active learning

Ingenuity in construction: Robotics takes center stage in 1st year of ESO

In the classrooms of 1st year of ESO, the sound of keyboards and the fitting of pieces indicate that a new challenge has begun. This week, the students have fully immersed themselves in the world of educational robotics, putting their ingenuity to the test with the assembly and programming of an automated crane.

Beyond connecting cables or writing lines of code, this STEAM project (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) is a life lesson. Through this activity, our boys and girls put into practice:

  • Computational thinking: To structure commands and solve logical problems.

  • Resilience: Robotics teaches us that making mistakes is part of the process. Trying, failing, analyzing the error, and trying again is where real learning resides.

  • Cooperative work: Building a complex structure requires coordination, patience, and a lot of communication among team members.

At the Ateneu, we bet on technology that is not only used but also understood and created. Seeing students excited when their crane makes its first move is the best reward for their perseverance.

Do you believe that robotics is a key tool for the future of students? We would love to hear your opinion in the comments!
